A Sweet Little Gift

At last my Internship is over. During this time I had been very busy and unfortunately unable to make any posts. However, I had such a wonderful experience, learnt a great deal of information that I will value for the duration of my career and developed a real soft spot for my students. I am missing them quite a lot and have lost any doubts I had in pursuing such a profession.

Whilst on my Internship I received a very lovely wrapped parcel in the mail with a sweet little note. Dolly darl Catherine from Sewing the 60s held a Beatles related giveaway, and I had been lucky enough to win. In the parcel were three greeting cards and three stickers of The Beatles albums "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", "Abbey Road" and "Let It Be", which also came with a badge. She also popped a lovely scarf in there as a surprise which I am very excited to wear and is most certainly a lovely addition to my growing collection of scarves.

It was something very pleasant to be surprised with coming home after a long and busy day.
You can see Catherine's blog here - definitely have a visit if you have not already!

Get Back To Where You Once Belonged

As I mentioned in my last post I am now currently once again residing at my old family home. I thought I might show you just a couple of pictures of what my living space and wardrobe is looking like at the moment. It has been hard trying to squeeze an entire unit back into a tiny room!

The walls are still covered in Beatles posters from my teen years as you can see in the reflection!

Vintage mirror, lamp and planter that I didn't have space for back in the unit. The little wooden jar was carved by a family friend from one of the trees in my Grandfather's hometown.

It was a nightmare trying to fit my clothes (and shoes) in here.
I'm not game enough to show you wardrobe number two!

Also here is the latest addition to my vintage collection: a beautiful 60's mini dress in beautiful condition. It was a real steal for only $8.00.

On Tuesday my Internship commences. I won't be around these parts for a while. Hopefully all goes well and I can get back to the blogging world again soon!

I've Been Away

It has been quite a while since I have made a blogpost.

As some of you may know, the boy and I have moved out of our little red house and have been extremely busy in the process. Not to mention I have just concluded my University year and had been swamped with work. As of the past couple of weeks I have been now living back at my family home.

I am missing the place quite a lot. I miss living so wonderfully close to the ocean that you can hear it roar through the windows at night and be only a walk down from the shops. Most especially I miss living with the boy and my little cat. We were both unable to take her to our new places of residence and thus we had to say goodbye. Thankfully though she has been visiting an old friend of ours who lived close by since we left, so we know that she is okay.

We have hoping to start looking for another place soon once things have calmed down a bit and once I complete my Internship in October. Though in all honesty I don't think we will be able to find something as wonderful as the place we had together. Time will tell.

I hoping now that my blogging will become more frequent now that I am not living out of boxes and finishing assignments and essays. My apologies for the absence!

New Skirt and Mo's Hair

Just a quick little post. This week I've been all over the shop. I've been to my Godparents' 50th wedding anniversary, I've had my palm read for the first time (quite spooky), had builders and plumbers in and out of the place fixing this and that, and doing my best to get my work done on time. Somehow in all this mess of busyness though I managed to have look through a couple of the second hand stores a few towns up after a morning with the boy. I found this beautiful little handmade vintage 1960's skirt. You cannot see how vibrant it is from these pictures,  but I've been searching for a skirt this bright shade of green for well over two years now. I had to sneakily rip it off a mannequin in the shop but it was well worth it. Fits like a dream too!

Whilst out looking about I also came across a pair of white go-go boots for the ridiculous price on $6.00! Why I didn't buy them, I'm not too sure. Perhaps I wasn't too pleased at the time about carrying them on the bus ride home and having nosies peeping in and seeing a pair of white PVC boots. After the weekend has passed I am hoping to go up there again and see if they are still there. If so I shall have to get them.

I also did my hair a little different today. I haven't done it in a while. Blonde haired Maureen Starkey was my inspiration. I'm hoping to wear it like this more often.
