New Skirt and Mo's Hair

Just a quick little post. This week I've been all over the shop. I've been to my Godparents' 50th wedding anniversary, I've had my palm read for the first time (quite spooky), had builders and plumbers in and out of the place fixing this and that, and doing my best to get my work done on time. Somehow in all this mess of busyness though I managed to have look through a couple of the second hand stores a few towns up after a morning with the boy. I found this beautiful little handmade vintage 1960's skirt. You cannot see how vibrant it is from these pictures,  but I've been searching for a skirt this bright shade of green for well over two years now. I had to sneakily rip it off a mannequin in the shop but it was well worth it. Fits like a dream too!

Whilst out looking about I also came across a pair of white go-go boots for the ridiculous price on $6.00! Why I didn't buy them, I'm not too sure. Perhaps I wasn't too pleased at the time about carrying them on the bus ride home and having nosies peeping in and seeing a pair of white PVC boots. After the weekend has passed I am hoping to go up there again and see if they are still there. If so I shall have to get them.

I also did my hair a little different today. I haven't done it in a while. Blonde haired Maureen Starkey was my inspiration. I'm hoping to wear it like this more often.

  1. Even though you were inspired by Maureen I think you're so Pattie Boyd is unbelievable! You always remind me of her but those pictures are really early-Pattie Boyd!
How was the palm reading? Your new skirt is lovely! xxx

    1. Ooo thank you, that's a very lovely compliment! I can't see it though ha!
The palm reading was incredible. Several years ago someone did it for fun and noticed that both my life lines were broken. From this they concluded that I'd die young and I've been a little frightened ever since. So when I noticed there was an actual palm reader at my Godparents' party I jumped at the chance to see what her thoughts were. Thankfully I'm apparently going to have a long life! She only read my life lines as I didn't want to take up too much of her time, but from that alone she discovered so much about me that would have been impossible for her to know - things about my personality and perceptions about the world. She did my two sisters too and they were very accurate also. Very interesting, thanks for asking! xxx

  2. The skirt is an excellent addition to your wardrobe, dear Lucy, and your new hair style is super cute. I hope those white boots will still be available when you go back to that shop. BTW, did you ever hear of the Shangri-Las inspired girl group called Whyte Boots?

I read what you told Ana about having your palm read and how the two practitioners arrived at different conclusions. If you'll allow me to be the tie breaker, I predict you'll enjoy a long life. I can tell because you protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays and because you are dedicated to the lifestyle you have chosen - always seeking to learn and discover more about your favorite decade in all its manifestations. People who stay connected, stay curious and stay passionate, live longer. That's you, dear Lucy!

    1. Thanks Shady! I hope those boots are still available too. Thank you for sending me the linking to the Whyte Boots song - it's great!
And in regards to the palm readings, how lovely of you to say such a kind thing. I will certainly remember this!

  3. Yes, you are much more Pattie than Maureen, but i like that hairstyle and it goes so sweetly with your outfit. When i was studying design at tafe, Kelly Green was my "go to" colour. i love it!

I used to get my palm and cards read a lot and i even bought a set of Tarot cards and began practicing, but i stopped and now im far to cynical to be able to believe it.
I believe in being true to yourself and sod everyone else's opinions, be happy, be healthy and you'll always have good and long life!

    1. Thank you! And thanks too for telling me what the name of the colour of my new skirt is - I love learning the names of colours and always feel that they will come in handy some day.

Great advice too, it's lovely to hear such things as this. Really it seems that the key to life is so simple!

    1. Oh why thank you! What a lovely compliment, I'm blushing!
In all honesty I think that those beloved boots are gone by now. If there are still there for me the next time I go it will really be a miracle! xx
