The other day I was looking through some storage in our unit and came across this. I bought it just before we moved in from a little stationary shop, and upon seeing it for the first time I knew I had to have it. It is a journal, and I think the most perfect journal for me. It ticks all my boxes:
- hardback mustard yellow cover - check
- black and white vintage inspired print on the inner cover - check
- fantastic illustration of a fox (one of my very favourite animals) on the front - check
- name label on the first page that reads what my Grandma used to write in her books - check
What I also love is that the illustrations are very similar to my individual art style and remind me of the days several years ago when I was passionate about drawing. I bought it with the intention of filling it with my poetry and illustrations, but I am in terrible in the way that I would only want to fill such a pretty book with the best of the best. I don't know if the day will ever come, but I sure do hope it does! Goodness me, I am still yet to write my name in it!
Ooh! There's another tick in my box! - Lewis Carroll/Jefferson Airplane connotations - check
It also sells in a "Swallow" copy, which you can find
here. I'd love to have it as well!
Hopefully some day soon I shall puck up the courage and make my mark within its pages.
It would be too much of a shame to leave it blank.
