Polka-Dots and Powder Blue

Here is just a quick little post showing my outfit for today.

- Vintage powder blue blouse with lace peter-pan collar.
(You can see it more clearly here)
- New/old red and cream polka-dot skirt
- Vintage maroon handbag
- Vintage maroon t-bar heels
- Cream lace socks

A bit early 60's with a twist today, I think.
And you would not believe the looks that a swarm of
parked bikies gave me today whilst walking to the bus stop!

Today was a lovely day to be out. Overcast with thick, heavy clouds and a slight cool breeze. Perfect. This type of weather is my very favourite. I feel a lot more motivated to get things done or go out and explore. What sort of days do you like best? Whilst out I picked up these sweet decorations. When the boy and I were at our old unit we never really had anything to decorate the place. Next place we find I am planning to liven it up a lot more, so I've been keeping my eye out for things here and there.  The candle smells quite amazing too. I am tempted to begin burning it now.

  1. Super duper cute outfit. You can't go wrong with polka-dots & a Peter Pan collar! I was in my element in today's weather too. How I love a grey day. Can't wait for it to get even cooler & the mugginess to pass. Xx

    1. Thank you! Ah, isn't it lovely? I am terrible with the mugginess, so I cannot wait for days when it's almost too cold to go outside without a cardigan.

  3. Cute outfit! I love the skirt and the shoes. we had perfect weather today! 27 degrees, sunny and not windy. lovely for lunch and frozen yogurt eating which we did. But then a huge storm came over at about 8pm and overflowed the gutters!

Grey days are not my favourite, i do actually get a little sad when they happen so i try to do other things to ignore the boring grey.

I hope you can find a new house soon! half of the fun is decorating it!

    1. Thank you! Can you believe how the weather changes over here? We had that happen the other day. A perfectly sunny day and in the evening we could hear tree branches cracking off from the wind during the storm. Trying to preoccupy yourself on those days is a good idea. And thank you, I hope we find one soon too!

  4. That's a super adorable skirt! I've always thought dark days like that were exciting. There's just something about a dramatic sky that makes me feel anything could happen!

  5. Lovely outfit, I'm always a fan of ankle socks! I tend to prefer overcast weather too, rain is actually my favourite. I do admit to feeling a little fed up with it lately though, I'm definitely ready for summer. I actually got to go outside without a coat today which felt exciting!
Decorating my space is one of my favourite things to do, I'm guilty of spending far too much on homewares. I hope you find a new place soon!

    1. Thank you, Faye! Rain is lovely. But I can understand why one would eventually get fed up with it. I hope the warm weather heads your way soon. It must be a nice relief to not have to wear a coat outside.
And thanks, I hope so too!

  6. aw! you look lovely.
i love the way your socks go with the lace on your blouse.
so cute, doll! i'm afraid i don't quite understand why you get looks/people stare when you wear vintage clothing. It is different, but not as unusual as some things people will wear!
just keep doing what you're doing, you look great :)

    1. Thank you very much, Abigail!
I suppose it may possibly be because I live right on the coast with some of the most popular beaches for surfing in the country. It is a very laid-back, beachy type place. Most people get around in thongs (flip-flops) and shorts. So perhaps I may look a bit out of place here. But I never really let it worry me anymore. Confidence in yourself is key!
      And thanks again!
