Just another quick Dig It post. How could one not love these shoes? If there was one pair of shoes to represent the fabulous decade that was the 1960's, I'd pick these. Designed in 1965 by the French fashion designer, Charles Jourdan, the patent leather shoes came in four colours. These were green, yellow, pink and red, as seen in this photograph taken by Guy Bourdin for an article in Vogue, 1967. I can picture myself wearing the green pair with (of course) green tights and a beautiful green 1960's romper with a high collar. I can imagine the red shoes being paired with a mod red a-line skirt and a white polo neck sweater. I could sit for an hour just dreaming of the many ways I'd want to wear these beauties.
How would you wear them?
You can see another imagine of the shoes in yellow here on the Metropolitan Museum of Art's website.
Wonderful shoes! I like your idea - I often match my shoes to my tights. <3 Those yellow ones are really gorgeous too. I can see wearing them bare-legged with a white sun dress.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous aren't they? I love the sound of wearing the yellow ones like that!
DeleteThose shoes are stunning! I love how bright and whimsical they are. I'm not sure what I'd pair them with specifically, though I would keep it simple so the rest of the outfit wouldn't take away from the shoes.

To you too!
DeleteOMG, those are so cute! I have something similar in gold lame, but with a buckle...not sure that I look quite right in that low heel, though!
ReplyDeleteOh I would love to see those shoes of yours! The heel is quite low, isn't it? I usually don't feel quite right in heels that low either, but I think if I had these I wouldn't be able to resist wearing them!
DeleteOh yes! How I love this shoe! I would wear the pink ones with orange tights and my pink dress I got from Retrospectrum. The one with the psychedelic pattern all over it! And then. Go dancing of course!
ReplyDeleteThat outfit sounds like a dream, I wouldn't have thought to have matched the pinks ones with orange tights - love the combination idea!
DeleteI would totally rock those... don't care! Ha ha!

ReplyDeleteIt sure is interesting to read about and funny to see how things revolve in the world of fashion.
DeleteGreat shoes! I'd want a pair in every colour and would wear them with coloured tights and shift dresses.
ReplyDeleteI'd love them in every colour as well. I wish they had brought them out in every colour of the rainbow.
DeleteOh my, those tights! You gotta love those colours...
ReplyDeleteHave a great day,
