What You're Doing

What I've been up to:

  • Waiting for sunnier days so I can wear these babies. Yup, I finally found myself a vintage pair of Salvatore Ferragamo shoes. I saw them for $4.00. Bam. They were mine. They may or may not have been stuffed in a carry-on bag on the return trip from Bathurst. Yes, all those months ago. They are a little too big, but that didn't stop me from buying them.
  • Purchasing granny skirts on a whim like the one shown above, even some that don't particularly fit me all too well. It just goes to show you should always try before you buy.
  • Watching the end of the Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood series and crying in a ball on the floor. Any other FMA fans out there?
  • Being crawled all over by a big fluffy cat in my sleep every night.
  • Adding a new vintage dress to my collection. I've been unlucky in that department of thrifting for a while now. It was lovely to finally find this.
  • Working like a nut at University. I can't count the amount of hours I've spent proof reading and following strict referencing systems. Only one more week to go!
  • Re-familiarizing myself with Adobe Illustrator for (blogging) University purposes. Those days at art school really payed off.  What do you think of my improved blog header?
  • Listening to Janis Joplin, David Bowie and Paul McCartney and Wings.
  • Receiving a bunch of goodies in the mail and a beautiful bouquet of flowers for being accepted into Golden Key International Honour Soceity.

What have you been up to?

    1. I've been trying to focus on the enjoyable things midst this seemingly endless mass of study. Thank you very much, I'm hoping for better weather so I can bring them out on the town. It's been to windy and rainy lately. And thanks, glad you like it!

  4. Great find with the shoes! I can imagine they'll fit your style just perfectly. I'm not personally a fan of FMA but I love knowing you are, I like when people like things that are perhaps a little 'unexpected' :) Good luck with your last week of uni! How funny that I've been re-familiarising myself with Illustrator too. I haven't used it since I left art school and the CC 2014 version feels like a completely different programme, goodness! I confess I've given up and gone back to Photoshop several times but I really must stick with it!

    1. Thanks! It may sound ridiculous but I've been planning outfits around them I'm so excited to finally wear them. Ah as do I, its always interesting to come across something 'unexpected' in a person. We've all got something like that up our sleeves I believe.
Thanks very much, I'm looking forward to having my holidays. It is very different, isn't it? I must say that I actually had to watch a few video tutorials to get a hold of the ropes on it again. I'm still getting there!

  5. Those shoes are a great find. I love the Ferragamo Vara pump and have a few pairs myself which I wear constantly. Sadly I can never find any second hand as my feet are too big and quite narrow! Love the look of your new header too - great work! x

    1. I'm very happy with them. They are such gorgeous shoes aren't they?. A red pair would be bliss! And that is always the downside of thrifting - you don't get a choice in size.
      And thanks very much!

It sounds like you've been keeping busy in the best ways possible. I haven't had much luck at all in op shops recently either, hopefully my luck picks up like yours has!

I've been very busy, hence my blogging absence lately. But I've been trying to focus on the little things that have been keeping me going. I hope your luck picks up to and you find yourself something amazing!

  10. Oh wow! What luck those Ferragamos! I wish someone with size 10 feet would donate all their stylish shoes! I love your new footer! Is that Edie Sedgewick? Good job on illustrator with that effect. I hope you last few days of uni swim by easily!

    1. I was very lucky! And thanks very much. No, it's not Edie. It's actually a graphic that I adapted from a 1960's wig box haha!

    1. There aren't many women in the world who had a voice as powerful and soulful as hers. What a charm she was.
