Long Awaited Break

At last, I've completed University for this year. Well, technically I still have one last assignment to submit, but today was my last official class. Though I love my studies and dedicate a lot of hard work to them, I am very relieved to at last have an extended break. This time last year I didn't really feel that I had any time to relax. Though my semester had ended, I was in the middle of a stressful move, having to say goodbye to my adopted furry kitten, contemplating where to store a houseful of wares and belongings, and participating in my first full time practicum as well as other things. It seemed all too soon that the next load of study came along. But this year, I am going to make an effort to enjoy my time off, make the most of it and just relax! So here is a little list that I've been mentally compiling of just some of the things so far that I want to do.

This Break:

- Begin a new art journal, adding a new element each day.
- Do some watercolor paintings.
- Start drinking more green tea.
- Continue knocking those little things off my Bucket List.
- Begin taking vintage hunting trips up north again.
- Learn some more songs on guitar.
- Read a book or two.
- Finally upgrade my phone.
- Pick up photography again.
- Swim at the beach more.
- Start wearing more hats.
- Go for bike rides.
- Take a trip somewhere.
- Declutter!
- Reorganize my living space.
- Properly categorize my record collection.
- Start making more outfit posts.
- Be easier on myself.

  1. Congratulations on finishing the semester! I know the feeling of immense relief that washes over you when it's all over. The breaks always seem to go by faster than you think, I hope you are able to really enjoy it and cross some things off that list!

  2. Oh no! it appears that i haven't gotten your last several posts. ( i switched my feed over to bloglovin' a while back and maybe i didn't follow this correctly) i'm so sorry that I've missed them. i sort of assumed you were taking a blogging break or something. i'll have to remedy that.

    1. Oh Abigail, don't apologize at all! I went over to Bloglovin' a long while ago and I'm still confused by it. For now I still prefer the Blogger feed as I find it easier to use.
Thank you very much, and you are always welcome!

  3. I hope you enjoy your break! A list is a good idea I think, having free time it's easy to lose focus and end up wasting it all (something I'm very guilty of!). And of course it's always fun to be able to tick things off. You've picked some great things. I've been drinking more herbal tea lately and it's quite amazing the difference it's made, I hear green tea has wonderful benefits.

    1. Thanks, Faye! I too think it is easy to lose focus. It's fun to do nothing sometimes, but I think it is better if I am productive otherwise I find myself getting in a bad loop. Yes, I hear too and see I difference myself. I've got some at the boy's place, now I just need to get some for my own place!

  4. Well done on completing your term and I think you deserve a well earned break. If I were you I'd scrub everything but the last point off your list and just go easy. Life's far too short for bucket lists. xxx

    1. Thank you very much, Vix! I think I should take your advice and just go easy. Even if I don't manage to do the things on the list I shouldn't worry or beat myself up for it. You are right - life it too short for that!

  5. Cute picture! I like making lists, too, it's good to have goals. Then you get that lovely accomplished feeling when you've managed to complete some things off your To-Do List.

    1. Glad you like the picture, I felt a bit like Holly Golightly when writing this post, just wanting to stay in bed with a sleep mask on and ear plugs in!

  6. Hope you have a really relaxing time off from university! It's always good to chill out after a long period of hard work so that you don't burn out! As for your list: It would be lovely to see a few more outfit posts if you got around to it. :)

    1. Thank you very much. I've burnt out once from too much study before. I had to have an entire year off, never going to let that happen again haha! And thanks, I'm going to make a conscious effort to do so.
