One Lovely Blog Award

Not long ago, the lovely Erin from Spreepark nominated me for the 'One Lovely Blog Award'.

Thanks, Erin!

The Rules:

1. You must thank the person who nominated you and include a link to their blog.
2. You must list the rules and display the award.
3. You must add seven facts about yourself.
4. You must nominate fifteen other bloggers and let them know they have been nominated.
5. You must display the award logo and follower the blogger who nominated you.

Seven Facts About Me:

1. I am a real 'fraidy-cat'. Though I love spooky movies and eerie things I cannot deal well with gore.
2. I'm not a real party kind of gal. The 'clubbing' scene does not interest me, but take me back to the clubs of 1967 and I would gladly dance the night away.
3. My nails are in a constant battle of staying short vs. growing long. These are the trials and tribulations of a guitar player who just can't stand long nails along the fret board, yet still wants them to be long enough to be deemed worthy for nail polish.
4. I come from a large family. I'm a middle child.
5. Back in high school I was the only student who wanted to do three science units for my final two years. However, I was not allowed to do so due to clashes between their places in my timetable.
6. I was once signed up with an film agency but decided to leave after being given an audition for a role that I was not comfortable with nor agreed with.
7. I love evening ferry rides through the city.

Mia from 60ies Love

Faye from Oh! Darling

  1. aww thank you my dear! you're always so sweet to nominate me even though i prefer not to take part. but thank you anyway.
I didn't know you were such a science buff! Were they 3 general units? I would have liked my school to offer geology. I think that would have been so fascinating! Sadly they stuck only with Bio, Chem and Physics.
And nails! i don't cut them by choice, they just break off because their always so thin and peel and break at the slightest knock. sigh...

    1. You are always welcome, Catherine! I never mind if nominees prefer not to participate. I am always just happy to share great blogs to others. It's always so exciting to find a new blog that just looks fantastic!
A bit of a science buff I suppose - there was a time when I was going to pursue it as a career! Yes, the units were Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I've heard many say that they wish Geology was an available unit. It would be fascinating.
The times that I do deliberately try to grow my nails, what you mentioned is always a problem for me too! Hence why I rarely wear nail polish!

  2. I'm finally getting around to saying thank you! I have the same issue with my nails- I bit them for years and years, finally stopping a few years ago. Now I want them to be long and nice, but they get so raggedy since I use my hands at work all the time. Argh!

    1. You are most welcome! It is such a nuisance trying to grow nails long when there are so many things preventing it from occurring isn't it? I don't think I could ever get false nails to fix the problem either, from all the writing, cleaning and guitar playing I do they'd come off the same day, I bet!

  3. Thanks for the nomination lovely! I think you would love the 60s club nights here in London, it is like going back to the 60s. I was at one on Saturday and the music was great and everyone looked fantastic.

    1. You are welcome, Sarah! Truly, I think I would enjoy it very much! One of the things on my 'bucket list' is to attend such a place and pretend that I'm back in my favourite era. I imagine you must have had such a wonderful time!

  5. Congratulations on the award, it's definitely well deserved! I can say with all honesty that your blog is one of my favourites, a "lovely blog" indeed. I always love reading such fact lists and learning more about you, you're such an interesting person. I must say I'm much the same with gore myself. I watch and read about it in horror fiction no problem, because I know it's fake I guess (and lets face it, the situations are usually completely ridiculous!) however show me a real bit of blood or one of those hospital TV shows and I can't handle it!
And thank you so much for nominating me, you're so sweet! ♥

    1. Thank you so much, Faye! What a very lovely thing to say and I'm glad you think that way. In the 'live' world I'm renowned as notoriously boring haha! I am very glad that I am not the only one. I always thought it seemed like such a contradiction, but we are who we are and really they are very different things when you think about it.
      And you are very welcome!

  6. Aw, thank you so much! And congratulations. :-) I always love hearing more about my favorite bloggers.

It's great that you were so enthusiastic about science courses in high school. What branch of science were/are you most interested in?

Evening ferry rides sound divine! I'm right there with you on number one. Love scary imagery and camp horror, but no slasher flicks for me, thanks!

    1. Thank you and you are very welcome, Anna!
Yes, I was quite a Science buff. I don't think I can really choose which were most appealing to me. But I can say that there was a time where I wanted to pursue careers in wildlife biology, astronomy/astrophysics and/or archaeology, and even did some tertiary study for it for a time. I'm a very indecisive person when it comes to so many things that I have an interest in!

And yes, evening ferry rides are beautiful. They lights of the city omit a warm glow and the breeze and smell of the salt in the air is so relaxing. And again, I'm glad I'm not the only who can't deal with blood and guts well!

    1. Hi, no worries at all! Either way, I always see these type of awards more so as an opportunity to share other great blogs. Whether participation is apparent or not, I am not at all bothered but just happy to give my favourite blogs a shout out!
