For a while now I've been wanting to do a post on my vanity table, or dressing table. I love seeing what is on other people's dressing tables, so I wanted to show my own.
At last I have gotten around to doing so.
Last year whilst we were looking for furniture for our future place we stumbled upon this beauty. I've always wanted a vanity. Ever since I was a tiny little girl. So I jumped at the chance to buy it, and for a very reasonable price, too, I couldn't leave it behind for someone else to snatch up. In the next few months for Christmas my mother actually bought me the matching jewelry stand for it, so I am very pleased that it has some company.
However, it had been missing a stool. Temporarily I used a little metal stool with a white fluffy cushion on top from my parents house, but it did not feel quite right. Then one day whilst out driving with my mother and sister I spotted something on the side of the road. It had obviously been discarded by somebody as it was amongst a pile of broken shelving and plates. I made them pull up of course, and lo and behold, there was my perfect vanity stool - vintage with beautiful dusted rose coloured cushioning. I couldn't have asked for anything better. Now each morning I love to sit at my vanity in my vintage satin dressing down and pretend that I am as fabulous as my favourite ladies from the past.
Inside these drawers I keep my stockings, tights and socks, and in the other my makeup.
This vanity set was given to me as a gift from the boy. It is perfect and each item has such a nice weight to it. It is funny too in the sense that for years I had wanted to receive my first vanity set when I turned 21. Without knowing this the boy bought this lovely set for me in perfect timing.
Here you can see the vintage glass love heart and perfume bottle that the boy bought for me from
this post. Also pictured is the newest addition to my vanity. I bought it yesterday, the shopkeeper titling it "the smallest picture frame in the world". I'm currently wondering what to use it to frame.
A vintage cameo pill box. I can't quite remember where it was that I got this from.
For a while now I've been using this new compact. I have no clue of what the brand is but it is the most perfect powder I've ever used. Would anybody happen to know? The look of it is a bonus too, I feel it has a vintage look to it.
A piece of rose quartz nestled upon a tiny vintage glass vase from my mother. The atomizer is also from her. The bottle next it is from my Great Uncle, who used to collect used perfume and cologne bottles during his lifetime. I found it in the garden once whilst visiting my Grandmother's home.
As I mentioned earlier, I love seeing what is on other people's dressing tables. So I thought I share some images of lovely ladies at their vanities that I find inspiring.
