Versatile Blogger award

Some time ago Sarah, from Lostvestige, nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award - thanks Sarah!
You should definitely check out her blog if you haven't already! Being nominated for this award requires you to present seven facts about yourself, and then in turn nominate a new handful of bloggers.

Things you may not know about me:

1. I dance. A lot. And in times in which one would not usually dance, such as waiting for the traffic lights to change, standing in line waiting to be served at a shop or having a chat with a friend.

2. I can change from giggly and gertie to stern and solemn in seconds if the situation requires it.

3. My cooking has improved A LOT since I've started this blog, something I never believed would happen!

4. Though I am truly in love with my favourite past era, I love video games. My weakness is The Legend of Zelda series.

5. My hair has never been touched by a colouring product.

6. A little quirky to some, but I collect business cards from anywhere that I've been to. Looking back at them is almost like reading a little story book of things I've experienced. It's gotten to the point where the boy automatically knows to pick one up if we go or stay somewhere new.

7. If I had to choose the one song that changed my life it would be "Magical Mystery Tour". Hearing that song again for the first time since my childhood about 10 years ago completely turned my world upside-down and re-sparked my undying love for the fab four.

And now for the nominees!

Jaime from Hard Crimson

Tessie Jayne from Socks With Sandals

Rosie from Bazaar Dandelion

Sarah from Style Sixties

Thanks again, Sarah!

  2. Thank you so much, Lucy! I'm really honored that you nominated me!

I can definitely relate to some of the things on your list:

    - Congratulations on your improved cooking. My cooking has vastly improved too in the past year. I didn't think that would ever happen either!

    - I've never played Zelda, but I've wanted to for a long time. Alas, I have played only PC games my entire life. My weakness is adventure/puzzle games.

    - Your hair is so beautiful - since I'm currently recovering from years of dyeing, I think no hair coloring products is a good place to be!

    - Your business card collection is such a neat idea.

    - Confession: I had never heard Magical Mystery Tour, so after reading your post, I gave it a listen. I totally understand how those songs you heard as a child can make a big impact. <3

    1. You're welcome!
Thank you very much, I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't think they'd improve at cooking!
If you love adventure/puzzle games you will most certainly love playing Legend of Zelda - that's what got me into them.
Thank you very much, that is very lovely of you to say. I've always had thoughts about trying out a different colour, but I'm just too scared!
And Glad you like the collection idea and that you understand how that music could make an impact on someone. That makes me smile.

  3. I've usually hated cooking, but I have found myself enjoying it more and more lately, I even have a whole hoard of recipes set aside that I'd like to try someday. Something I never thought would happen either! I think business cards are really neat too, I always have the impulse to grab them when I see them.

    1. I am the same and have been hoarding recipes into a little folder! I'm really quite glad that there are others out there who are still getting into or improving at cooking. I don't feel so alone on the subject now, haha! And glad you like the business card idea too!

  4. I always enjoy reading these types of posts! Bravo on the cooking front! I don't like cooking in the slightest but it's so important really. Your hair definitely shows as being healthy in your photos, you're dead right not to dye it! Like Anna, I'm also recovering from years of dying (and bleaching! Eek!) and lets just say it's not a pretty sight! I can definitely understand how The Magical Mystery Tour had that effect on you, it's one of my favourite songs also! For me it was the song Help! that ignited it all for me.

    1. Thanks, Faye! How lovely of you, I must say though at least you a brave enough to try some thing different like that - part of the reason why I've never touched a colouring product is because I'm too scared haha!
Nice to hear Magical Mystery Tour is one of you favourites as well! I'll never forget the way it made me feel hearing it again after so long. And I can completely understand how Help! did what it did for you!

  7. Fantastic to hear! Dancing is always good, and when my boy is out, I put the music on. And dance around like a psychotic ballerina!

I wonder, do you keep all your business cards in a book or box with the dates and so on? I had a colleague who did the same but with bar coasters!

    1. It's a great way to just release energy and forget about the world for a minute or two. I used to do the same at our old unit, but instead of dancing like psychotic ballerina (brilliant I might add haha!) more so like a dreadfully unbalanced monkey!
I do keep all the cards together in a box, and in the relative order that I find them, but I don't write dates on them. I have thought about doing so, and I've met people who do so with bar coaster too!
