Just a quick post.
You may remember this "Seeing Double" post from a while back. Look what I have stumbled across.
It is the same dress designed by American fashion designer Bill Blass in the late 1960's.
I still prefer it in green worn by the Vogue dolly-bird from 1968.
I've nearly no interest in any modern fashion, and find it boring when I read of celebrities seen wearing the same outfits and being criticized for it by many a people. Call me a hypocrite if you like, but I do however find it interesting when I see it occur way back when in my favourite decade!
I don't know what it is. Perhaps it is because I actually have interest in the people wearing the outfits, or for the beautiful outfits themselves or perhaps it is a combination of both - most likely.
Apparently this dress was really popular! I wouldn't question, it's lovely. Shame it's not popular enough so we can find in charity shops..! xxx
ReplyDeleteHi, dear Lucy! When confronted with the trappings of the modern world, people like us have blinders on. In many ways the present doesn't seem like a good fit. We are tuned in and turned on to the Sixties. The incomparable decade is part of my history and it is your adopted time period. It is where you feel most comfortable, most at home and most like yourself. The music, culture, attitudes and fashions are a perfect fit for who and what you are. I can't tell you how happy it makes me to witness the phenomenon as you and our other young friends around the world not only study and celebrate that glorious era, but actually live it.
ReplyDeleteI hope your weekend is off to a fine start, dear friend, and I bid you good night and a happy Sunday!
I've had to stop reading the papers because of all the nasty judging in the "fashion" section. Last week Miss X was hot but this week Miss X is the worst dresser ever! You are not contradictory in they way they are! You have a good eye for spotting these dresses!
